Bengal has extended Covid-related restrictions on services and movement till June 15.
Restrictions currently in place were announced from May 15 to May 30.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has sought the co-operation of the state’s residents and appealed to them: “Please don’t call this a lockdown. Covid numbers have come down. For economy’s sake there will be no total lockdown.”
This morning Bengal reported over 16,000 new COVID-19 cases and 153 deaths in the past 24 hours.
