Manchester United are currently hunting for a new manager, after parting ways with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Sunday morning, following a 4-1 defeat to Watford.

Manchester United can confirm that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has left his role as Manager.

As expected, a whole host of names have been linked with the role.
Speaking on air with BT Sport ahead of Manchester City’s clash with Mauricio Pochettino’s PSG side, former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves has backed current Spain boss Luis Enrique to be the next Manchester United boss, saying:
“I think one name that’s not on there, which I’d like to see, is Luis Enrique.”
“If you manage a big football club like Barcelona, and you won the treble there, and then you can go and take a pretty average team to a semi-final [of Euro 2020] in Spain, I think that’s the type of guy [United need]
“And he’s only managing the national team, so I think he could come in and do the job now.
“I think he would transform United from a good team into a great team.”
One thing that may have slipped Hargreaves’s attention is that Enrique has already effectively ruled himself out of the job.

Speaking to Spanish media on Sundat, Enrique was quizzed on the prospect, and was quick to downplay the links. Enrique quipped:
Is it April fools day today?
Asked whether he would want to go to a club as big as Manchester United, he was quick to point out his current role too, saying:
“I’m already in the biggest team in Spain with 5,000 players.”
With Enrique reiterating that he is happy to be where he is now, and with a World Cup in exactly 12 months, it would be an odd time to jump ship.
