Book exhibition opens in Afghanistan's Badakhshan province

FAIZABAD, Afghanistan, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) — A street book exhibition opened in Faizabad city, capital of Afghanistan's northern Badakhshan province on Saturday, organizer of the exhibition Ahmad Nabil Qazizada said Sunday.
A total of 800 different kinds of books including social, politics, religious and scientific pieces of books are on display in the exhibition, which will last for one week, a local media outlet Salam Watandar quoted Qazizada as saying.
Aimed at promoting the culture of book reading among people, the book exhibition has been widely welcomed by the locals.
It was the first time that a book exhibition has been held in Badakhshan province since the Taliban took control in mid August and formed a caretaker administration in September. Enditem
