The 2022 NBA Draft is right around the corner. With several exciting prospects up and down the board, the league should expect a pleasant infusion of young talent next season. For the Sixers, it is another chance to add cheap, affordable talent late in the first round — this time with the 23rd overall pick.

Zooming out to view at the league as a whole, this big board will rank the top 30 prospects in the forthcoming rookie class. From collegiate stars like Chet Holmgren and Paolo Banchero, to lesser-known studs from overseas.

Here we go.

Hugo Besson

G,  France

2022 NBA Draft Big Board — 30. Hugo Besson, France

Hugo Besson spent last season in New Zealand, where he established himself as a viable first-round prospect. At 6-foot-5, he’s one of the craftiest ball-handlers in the draft, using his deep bag of tricks and soft touch to torch defenses from anywhere on the court. He has to up his consistency and improve as a defender, but Besson’s skill level pops off the screen.

Wendell Moore Jr.

F, Blue Devils

2022 NBA Draft Big Board — 29. Wendell Moore Jr., Duke

A big athletic wing who can hit 3s and handle the basketball, Wendell Moore feels like a player who should be much higher on draft boards. Unfortunately, his tenure at Duke was plagued by inconsistency and gun-shyness. He has to learn to embrace a smaller NBA role while simultaneously being more aggressive from deep and becoming more disciplined on drives to the rim.

Walker Kessler

C, Tigers

2022 NBA Draft Big Board — 28. Walker Kessler, Auburn

Walker Kessler was the best rim protector in college basketball last season. He’s a massive frame in the paint who casts a shadow over every guard who ventures inside. Certain offensive schemes will cause him trouble, but he’s not heavy-footed and he’s an effective play-finisher at the rim offensively.
