The inaugural SA20 League is all set to commence from 10th January. This league is expected to be the next big thing in the franchise Circuit as it has got all the traits to be a spectacle as a lot of star cricketers have enrolled their name for the competition.
Cricket South Africa (CSA) would be hoping that this league revolutionizes their white ball Cricket. Their recent defeat against the Netherlands in ICC T20 World Cup 2022 once again has raised questions over their preparations as they are failing at crucial junctions of the tournament.
Quinton de Kock on SA20
Quinton de Kock was having an interaction with reporters and was asked about the tournament. “Pretty much, it’s a new tournament, so. I guess looking forward to the unexpected, we have had a couple of these tournaments and there hasn’t been one in a while. Obviously, it’s quite a big event. I think this could be one of the bigger events in the local franchise system.” said Quinton de Kock.
“A lot of youngsters, who haven’t been part of the big tournament will be involved in this, so it will be good for the new guys and obviously for the guys who have been around in serving cricket. This is also new for us, so this would be amazing another new competition, so I can’t wait.” stated de Kock.
“I have played with everyone, I know what I am dealing with, and so, I know the boys are going to have a lot of fun with the children, with the fisherman as well. So I know that’s what I am dealing, so it’s pretty easy for me.” he added.
Great Contests on Cards
As we all know that IPL franchises are the owners of the 6 teams. It is also said that this league can change the face of Franchise Cricket as well as of the World Cricket as there are riveting matchups aligned.
CSA has taken the bold step of setting up this league at the expense of the bilateral ODI Series against Australia. Australia currently is in a precarious position placed at 11th position with 59 points as now each match is a literally do-or-die contest.
