Ravichandran Ashwin Backs Virat Kohli To Do Well In The ODI World Cup 2023

Indian veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin backed Indian maestro Virat Kohli to do well for India in the 2023 ODI World Cup on home soil. Virat Kohli made a stunning return to form, starting from Asia Cup 2022, and went on to score five centuries for India ending his drought of centuries.
Ravichandran Ashwin, who is vocal about his views on world cricket, Spoke highly about the former Indian skipper expressing his confidence in Virat Kohli to maintain his form during the ODI world cup. Speaking on his youtube channel Ashwin said.
“Usually, when Virat Kohli scores a fifty, he will convert it into an unbeatable hundred and prove why he is the king. But that did not happen. But fingers crossed, he is looking very good by the day. He is going to turn it on during the World Cup, I have all the beliefs. Let’s back him,” said Ashwin.

Virat Kohli was the only bright spot in India’s chase against Australia in the deciding ODI scoring 54 runs before being dismissed by Ashton Agar in an unfortunate manner, which changed the match in favour of the Australians.
Virat Kohli will look to maintain his form in IPL 2023 for RCB and will have a huge role to play for the RCB who will chase their maiden IPL title. The 34-year-old joined his teammates for the preseason camp on March 25 in Bangalore and will be present in the “RCB unbox” event on Sunday along with legendary Chris Gayle and Ab de Villiers.
He would try to carry on his form for the men in blue with India having an all-important world cup scheduled later this year on home soil. As the last three ODI World Cups are won by the home team, India will look to make full use of the Indian conditions to end India’s title drought in ICC events.
Experts Are Very Harsh With Their Criticism These Days – Ravichandran Ashwin
Ravichandran Ashwin further went on to defend India’s decision to send Suryakumar Yadav in the NO.7 position in the final ODI match against Australia and also added the public and experts are very harsh about the Indian team if they fail to do well.
“There is almost a compulsion that India should always win. There is an opinion that India is the strongest team. We are a strong team, no doubt about that but somewhere down the line, we assume ourselves to be invincible. So the feedback coming from the public sometimes can be harsh. Even experts are very harsh with their criticisms these days,” he added.
Ravichandran Ashwin is currently preparing for the upcoming IPL edition in Jaipur, which is set to kick off on 31st March 2023. Rajasthan Royals will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in their opening encounter on April 2, in Hyderabad.
