Bongani Ntanzi’s alleged involvement in the murder of former Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa was first made known to police by an informant in 2019.

This was revealed in the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria, where Ntanzi and his four co-accused are on trial for the murder of Meyiwa.

The court is currently hearing evidence in a trial-within-a-trial to determine the admissibility of two confession statements Ntanzi allegedly made shortly after being arrested, as well as a confession allegedly made by Muzi Sibiya.
