Avalanche occurred in Hung area of Sonamarg

IMD said that two separate cyclonic conditions are prevailing in southern Assam and Odisha. Under its influence, there is a possibility of thunderstorms and strong winds in almost all the northeastern states including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, the Ganga coastal areas of West Bengal and Odisha, Jharkhand and Bihar during March 30 to April 1. Temperature will be higher than normal in April-May, heat wave will continue

Senior scientist of IMD, Dr. Naresh Kumar said that the temperature is expected to be above normal in the months of April and May. However, he also said that it is too early to make any accurate predictions. He said that due to high temperature, there is a possibility of heat wave like situation in the coming months. He said that heat wave conditions may occur in the central part of the country in April. May is going to be the hottest and there is a strong possibility of heat wave in North-West as well as Central India.
