The Eastern Cape legislature has charged five EFF MPLs with misconduct after they disrupted Premier Oscar Mabuyane’s State of the Province Address in East London in February. 

A fight ensued between EFF MPLs and the legislature’s protocol officials when Speaker Helen Sauls-August ordered the opposition party members to leave the sitting after they disrupted Mabuyane.

Those charged are EFF provincial chairperson Zilindile Vena, provincial secretary Simthembile Madikizela, Zoleka Qotoyi, Litha Zibula and Bulelwa Dial.
