Emma Raducanu gets told how British BJK Cup feels about her return to competition

Top-ranked British tennis player Katie Boulter says she is thrilled over Emma Raducanu’s return to the British Billie Jean King Cup team as she is wishing great health to the 2021 US Open champion who had been through a lot of difficult and challenging time in the last few years.

This week, 21-year-old Raducanu will be among the British players representing their nation in the BJK Cup qualifiers tie against France, which will give the winner a ticket to the BJK Cup Finals.

After making her BJK Cup singles debut in the 2022 qualifiers tie against the Czech Republic, Raducanu wasn’t available to the British on the next couple of occasions, mainly due to injury issues.

But now that Raducanu is healthy again after undergoing surgeries on both wrists and her right ankle, she is ready to play in Rouen this week and try to help Great Britain seal a win over France.

“I’m very pleased. We’ve missed her. We love having her back,” world No. 28 and recent San Diego champion Boulter told the PA News Agency of Raducanu’s comeback.

“Obviously, the No. 1 thing is that she’s healthy. I’ve always said it for myself and it’s my biggest wish for her as well is that she can stay as healthy as possible.

“We’re going to be welcoming her with open arms, for sure.”

When Raducanu made her BJK Cup singles debut in 2022 April, she went 1-1 as Great Britain ended up losing 2-3 to the Czech Republic.

Ahead of her BJK Cup comeback, the 21-year-old Briton highlighted team support as one of the most beautiful things in the competition.

“Just to have your team on the bench, it’s a nice feeling to have them behind you. You can look up to them whenever you are playing or whenever you feel like you need a bit of (support)… It’s a good environment,” Raducanu said.

If Great Britain beats France and Raducanu stays healthy, she would most certainly agree to also represent her nation in the BJK Cup Finals later this year.
