PIF negotiations, Jordan Spieth fears for life

Invited to speak to the media on the eve of the first round of the John Deere Classic which he won twice in 2013 and 2015, Jordan Spieth did not cut into questions relating to the progress of negotiations between the two circuits rivals (PGA Tour and LIV).

Indeed, while rumors are circulating about a possible agreement in recent weeks, there is currently no official confirmation paving the way for a reunification of the professional game. But Spieth, who currently sits on the PGA Tour Board of Directors, would not provide further clarification.

He jokingly implied that if he revealed what he knew, he might end up at the bottom of the water tied to a concrete block. The Texan, who has not won since April 2022, notably avoided questions surrounding a possible return of LIV Golf players to PGA Tour events.

The most recent Major winners, Jon Rahm, Cameron Smith, Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau, are in fact still suspended by the American circuit until further notice. “This is an extremely complex question and if I answer it I could get into a lot of trouble.

I will just say that things of this nature take a little time, but the discussions are very intense. That’s about all I can tell you for now…” For his return after 9 years of absence, the one who won his first PGA Tour tournament here in Illinois at 19 years old hopes to benefit from the support of the public.

This season, Spieth has 3 top 10 finishes in 17 tournaments. His best performance was a 3rd place at the Sentry Tournament at the start of the year. Jordan Alexander Spieth (born July 27, 1993) is an American professional golfer on the PGA Tour.

During the 2015 season, he won two of the four major golf tournaments. He first won the Masters, tying Tiger Woods’ tournament record and becoming the second-youngest Masters winner after Woods. After winning the US Open that same year, he became world number 1.

He also finished fourth in the British Open and second in the PGA Championship. Spieth finished the season with the largest earnings and most tournament victories on the PGA Tour with 5 victories.
