Google Pay UPI Circle: Google Pay will soon launch UPI Circle, this is how you can avail the benefits

By using UPI Circle, people who do not have their own bank account will be able to make UPI payments. This will greatly expand the scope of UPI payments. A person will be able to provide the facility of making UPI payments to another account of the family through UPI Circle

Google Pay will soon launch its services on UPI Circle. UPI Circle is a facility that allows two or more people to make UPI payments from the same bank account. This scheme is currently being tested on a pilot basis among a selected group of users. In this facility, a person can allow multiple family members to make UPI payments from his bank account. Such a person is called a primary account holder. Let us know about it in detail.

Two options for delegation

The primary user can authorize family members to use his bank account. In such a case, the family members will be called secondary users. The primary user can give full or partial authorization to the secondary user. In full delegation, the primary user can set a payment limit of up to Rs 15,000 per month. The secondary user can make UPI payments within this limit.

In partial delegation, the primary user retains full control over the transaction. He reviews and approves every transaction or payment request initiated by the secondary user. In both types of delegation, the secondary user has to accept the request within 30 minutes of the primary user’s request to be added to the UPI circle. The secondary user will be able to add the primary user to the UPI circle only if the secondary user’s mobile number is saved in his phone’s contact list.

How to join UPI Circle

To join UPI Circle, the secondary user has to open his Google Pay UPI app. Then go to the profile section and tap on the QR code icon. With this, the primary user will scan the QR code shared by the secondary user and add him to the UPI circle.

Make a trusted person a secondary user

The primary user has to keep in mind that he is adding a trusted person as a secondary user. The primary user has to decide whether he wants to give partial delegation to the secondary user or full delegation. In partial delegation, the primary user will receive a notification on every payment request of the secondary user. He has to approve the request within 10 minutes.

Benefits of full delegation

In full delegation, if the primary user has set a monthly limit of Rs 5,000 for the secondary user, then the secondary user can make payments multiple times within this limit. He does not have to take approval from the primary user for every payment. In full delegation, the primary user can specify the end date of this facility.

The secondary user must accept the request

After the primary user sends the request, the secondary user receives an invitation to join the UPI circle. He accepts the request and becomes a part of the primary user’s UPI circle.
