Nebraska down another offensive lineman, and injuries to limit Purdue for kickoff
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Both Nebraska and Purdue will officially be down some key playmakers ahead of their Saturday game.
Most of the Husker absentees were expected.
Kicker Tristan Alvano is out — redshirt freshman John Hohl will do the kicking — as is starting left tackle Turner Corcoran, who suffered a hamstring injury last week against Illinois. Rotational linebacker Stefon Thompson is also unavailable.
Right guard Micah Mazzccua is out, too. The offensive lineman started NU’s first two games, didn’t play against Northern Iowa because of a coach’s decision and appeared only on special teams last week. He isn’t hurt.
Injuries are affecting Purdue, too.
It is down three receivers in senior Jayden Dixon-Veal, sophomore CJ Smith and junior Jahmal Edrine as well as starting safety Antonio Stevens. Another Boilermaker sitting out is defensive end CJ Madden.

Among the Huskers who traveled to Purdue are linebacker Javin Wright and cornerback Tommi Hill.
Coach Matt Rhule has said Hill will be a game-time decision as the starter determines his pain threshold for a foot injury. Wright has yet to appear in a game this season, but Rhule this week left open the possibility the defender could make his season debut on Saturday.
