IPL Auction 2025: “What a downfall”
The IPL 2025 auction sprung a huge surprise at just the start of the second day when the talented batter Prithvi Shaw went unsold in the first round. Shaw entered the auction at a base price of INR 75 lakh but didn’t find any buyers unfortunately.
Shaw was in Delhi Capitals till last year and even played eight matches in IPL 2024. However, he had a dip in form and was eventually dropped from the Playing XI. His replacement Jake Fraser-McGurk performed exceptionally well, leaving Shaw no chance of coming back.

Someone rightly said players of his batch are retained by the franchise or made captains and Prithvi Shaw goes unsold even at base price of 75L ? pic.twitter.com/1PZ2yPYMgY

From being hailed as the next Sachin Tendulkar to being unsold at the age of 25. What a downfall for Prithvi Shaw.
