SMVDU signs MoU with Tata Steel Ltd

KATRA, Nov 27: In order to augment the Academia-Industry interface in the region of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra and Tata Steel Limited (TSL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The agreement was signed by Hemant Bhargava, Chief Sales Manager (North), TSL and Ajay Kumar Sharma, Registrar SMVDU, in the presence of Prof Pragati Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of SMVDU.
The MoU aims to foster the Academia-Industry collaboration especially in the professional fields of Architecture, Civil, Mechanical & Energy Management. It is pertinent to mention that the School of Architecture & Landscape Design (SoALD) of SMVDU has achieved 16th NIRF Ranking and visions to expand professional footprints in the construction industry with joining hands of the TATA Steel.
The partnership’s main objective is to aware & train the professionals engaged in the said fields about the upcoming technology & trends in the Construction Industry. In addition to it, curriculum development, industrial training, internships, research & consultancy programs shall be envisaged for the aspiring professionals. The signing of the MoU was coordinated by Aditya Kumar Singh, Associate Professor, SoALD and the ceremony witnessed the presence of Dr Balbir Singh, Dean Academic Affairs, Dr Vineet V Tyagi, Dean Research & Development, Dr Kumud Ranjan Jha, Dean FoE, Kamal Sharma, University Engineer, Heads and faculty members of the Schools of Architecture, Civil, Mechanical & Energy Management.
The notable attendees from the TATA Steel included Pratima Rao, Head Sales (North); Rajnish Sharma, HSC Fortune; Sachin Kumar, Manager and Sunil Raina, Business Consultant.
