FNG Expressway: FNG Expressway will reduce the distance between 2 states, preparations to hand over the work to NHAI

Efforts have begun to give the responsibility of building the Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad Expressway (FNG Expressway) to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) once again. This time, instead of Uttar Pradesh, the Haryana government has started efforts for this.

Efforts have begun to give the responsibility of building Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad Expressway (FNG Expressway) to National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) once again. This time, instead of Uttar Pradesh, the Haryana government has started efforts for this. Earlier, the state government had also made two-three attempts through Noida Authority, which were not successful. The Haryana government is also preparing to build it at its own level.

In a meeting held on Tuesday between PWD officials of Noida and Haryana government, there have been indications of giving the responsibility of constructing FNG to NHAI. To take the FNG project forward, a team of Noida Authority went to Faridabad on Tuesday. In the meeting, the alignment of the bridge to be built on Yamuna and the road connecting it was discussed. Accordingly, Noida Authority will build a road connecting the bridge to be built on Yamuna in its area. The officials there said that a detailed project report of the bridge to be built on Yamuna and other works has been prepared. It has been sent for approval. After this, further process will be done. The bridge to be built on Yamuna will be at a height of about 14 meters from the ground. The height of the road connecting it will also be considerable.

The bridge to be built on Yamuna is estimated to cost Rs 200 to 250 crores. This cost will be borne equally by Noida and Haryana governments. This bridge will be connected near Lalpur village in Faridabad. The important thing is that apart from the bridge, a lot of land has to be taken from the farmers to build a road in Faridabad area for FNG. In today’s time, farmers are not ready to give land easily. Under the new law, the government will have to bear more financial burden in acquiring land. It is estimated to cost more than one thousand crores. No work has been done on FNG in Faridabad yet. If official sources are to be believed, then the Haryana government has started efforts to hand over this project to NHAI again.

The proposal has been rejected

On the proposal of Noida Authority, in the past years, the UP government had tried to give the work of FNG to NHAI. Letters were also sent to the central government for this. Once the NHAI team came, by then most of the Eastern Peripheral Expressway was ready. In such a situation, after the construction of the peripheral, the government denied the utility of FNG and refused to take the responsibility of building it.

A lot of work has been done in Noida

A lot of work has been done regarding FNG in the Noida area. At some places, the road is yet to be built in small pieces, on which there is a dispute with the farmers in the court. To connect the road to the Yamuna bridge, the authority also has to take land from the farmers, which is not an easy process. Apart from this, it is proposed to build an elevated road, a flyover and an underpass at one place in Noida. It is estimated that these works will cost Rs 1500 to two thousand crores.
