Heavy rains in AP from today

Visakhapatnam: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) announced on Monday that a new low-pressure area has formed over the central parts of the south Bay of Bengal. The system is expected to bring heavy rainfall to isolated places over South Coastal Andhra Pradesh (SCAP), Rayalaseema, and North Coastal Andhra Pradesh (NCAP) from December 17 to December 20.
The IMD stated that the associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 3.1 km above the mean sea level. It is likely to become more marked and move west-northwestwards towards the Tamil Nadu coast in the next two days.
The IMD forecast also indicated that isolated places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh (CAP) and Rayalaseema will experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning from December 17 to December 20. Squally weather, with wind speeds of 35-45 km/h gusting up to 55 km/h, is likely to prevail along and off the South Andhra Pradesh coast and adjoining sea areas on December 18 and December 19.
