Japan forward Daizen Maeda hit a brace as Celtic romped to a 6-0 home win over Dundee in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday.

Maeda dived in at the far post to head home Jota’s cross from the left to give the Glasgow-based club a 3-0 lead in the 55th minute. He got their fourth four minutes later after running in behind the visitors’ backline and chipping keeper Trevor Carson.

Arne Engels’s penalty and an Adam Idah finish high into the net gave Celtic a 2-0 lead at the break. Engels had his second in the 71st minute with a deflected shot going in off the bar and Nicolas Kuhn curled home to complete the scoring 10 minutes later.

Three-time reigning champions Celtic sit top of the table on 66 points, 13 clear of second-placed cross-city rivals Rangers.
