China Post issues commemorative stamps for Harbin Asian Winter Games



(ECNS) — China Post issued a commemorative stamp set on Friday to mark the 9th Asian Winter Games.

A total of 6.49 million of these stamp sets, with a denomination of 1.2 yuan (about 16 U.S. cents) for each set, can be purchased at designated postal outlets and online shops over the next six months.

Each set includes a hexagonal stamp featuring the emblem and mascots, Binbin and Nini, of the Harbin Asian Winter Games.

The stamp design incorporates the signature blue from the Games’ theme and snowflake patterns, showcasing the host city’s winter charm.

To offer a more immersive experience, China Post has also released a digital edition via WeChat mini-program, allowing users to view the stamps with AR technology.

With the theme of “Dream of Winter, Love among Asia,” the 9th Asian Winter Games opened in Harbin, Northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province on Friday night, marking the city’s second time hosting the event since 1996.

The Games will last till Feb. 14.
