Hyderabad: For Palle Sunny alias Srikanth, acting is more than just a job, it’s something he truly loves. His passion started in childhood, inspired by his father, who loved movies and acted in stage plays. Srikanth made his film debut in 2019 with Dorasani and has been growing in his career ever since, exploring both acting and cinematography.
“My father loved acting and movies. He used to take me to watch almost every film that was released. Seeing him perform on stage was exciting. That’s how my love for acting began,” Srikanth says.
His first film experience was tingling since he had never acted before. “Starting a film without any experience was challenging. But the entire team, including Anand Devarakonda and Shivatmika, made me feel comfortable. I made many friends and it was a great learning experience,” he recalls. To improve his skills, he later joined a theatre workshop at Sutradhar, one among the leading acting schools in Hyderbad.
Unlike many actors who have a dream role, Srikanth enjoys taking on any role that excites him. “Every role is special for me. If it challenges me and helps me grow as an actor and a person, that’s all that matters,” he says.
However, his journey has not always been easy. One of his biggest disappointments was when he was selected for a major Bollywood film after several auditions. “I was ready in every way, mentally, physically and emotionally. Everything was confirmed, and I was supposed to fly to the shoot the next morning. But the call never came. It was heartbreaking after months of waiting and preparation,” he shares. But instead of giving up, he decided to move forward. “I closed my eyes for a few minutes, took a deep breath, and moved on. That experience taught me patience.”
Despite the challenges, Srikanth finds happiness in small but meaningful moments. “Whenever someone tells my parents they saw me on screen, their happiness is priceless. That means the most to me,” he says.
When asked how does he prepare for a role, Srikanth says, “I spend time with the director to understand his vision, read the script many times, watch similar performances, and completely transform myself into the character. I even change small habits in my daily life to connect with the role better.”
Apart from acting, he is also passionate about cinematography and photography. He owns a photography company and has won awards, including recognition from the Government of Telangana. Every year, he holds photography exhibitions showcasing his best work.
Looking ahead, Srikanth hopes to succeed in both acting and cinematography. “My goal is to explore life and emotions through my work and connect with as many people as possible. That’s what keeps me motivated every day,” he says. With his dedication and love for his craft, Srikanth’s journey is worth following.
