Karimnagar: BJP candidate for Karimnagar-Medak-Adilabad-Nizamabad MLC Graduates constituency Anji Reddy is continuing in the lead in the counting of first priority votes.

Anji Reddy was leading after securing 23,310 votes after the third round of counting. Congress aspirant V Narender Reddy is in second position with 18,812 votes while BSP candidate Prasanna Harikrishna in the third place with 15,880 votes.

Right from the first round, Anji Reddy has been in the lead. In the first round, he got 6,712 votes followed by Narender Reddy with 6,676 and Prasanna Harikrishna with 5,867.

The counting of graduates MLC votes continued on the second day on Tuesday. After completing the ballot papers separation process, election authorities started the counting of votes on Tuesday morning.

Deciding to count the first priority votes in 11 rounds, 21,000 votes are being counted in each round by arranging 21 tables; 1,000 votes are being counted on each table.

About 2,52,100 votes including postal ballots were polled in the graduates constituency elections held on February 27. Of them 28,000 were found invalid and 2,24,000 were valid.
