China's Xu, Yang advance in women's doubles at Indian Wells

INDIAN WELLS, March 8 (Xinhua) — Chinese women’s doubles pair Xu Yifan and Yang Zhaoxuan reached the last 16 at Indian Wells with a 6-4, 7-6 (7) victory over compatriots Wu Fang-Hsien and Jiang Xinyu on Saturday.

Despite hitting seven double faults, Xu and Yang won 76 percent of their first-serve points and converted three of seven break points to prevail in an hour and 31 minutes.
