Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao asked the State police to stop harassing BRS cadre, at the behest of the ruling Congress, to settle political scores. He warned that those targeting his party leaders would face consequences when the BRS returned to power in Telangana.
Addressing the preparatory meeting for the silver jubilee celebrations of BRS in Karimnagar on Sunday, Rama Rao said the Congress which promised Indiramma Rajyam in Telangana, had turned it into a police State. With Indiramma Rajyam, he said the Congress did not mean welfare and development, but oppression of dissent.
“The police are targeting people especially BRS leaders who are questioning the government. But they must remember that when BRS returns to power, they will be held accountable for their lawlessness. They will be dealt with as per law,” he warned.
The BRS working president stated that unlike the BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, he was not kind-hearted and would not be lenient with such officers.
“Even if they retire and flee to another country, we will bring them back and settle all accounts. There is no question of staying quiet. It was one reckoning till now; from now on, it’s a new reckoning,” he declared.
