Vijay Singh criticizes PGA Tour's stance on LIV Golf

The arrival of LIV Golf has changed many things on the golf scene. The experienced name of this sport, Vijay Singh, is surprised by the events between the two parties, specifically, the conflict between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf.
Many quality golfers from the PGA Tour have gone the other way, producing various reactions in the public. Cameron Smith is one of the names that caused the most reaction when he joined LIV Golf, even though he was a star on the PGA Tour at the time.
Vijay Singh, a famous golfer, shared his view of the situation as a guest on 'What's Your One More'.
The 62-year-old believes that the PGA Tour leaders should have acted differently, cooperating with LIV Golf.
“One thing I don’t understand is why the Tour was so much against it instead of working with them. Fighting totally. It’s like opening a new burger joint next to McDonald’s. Why can’t anybody do that? This is America. You are supposed to do whatever, as long as you don’t break the rules. They did not break any rules. The only thing they did was they paid players to come and play. So that’s what the sad thing was. Otherwise the players would not have gone.“- he said, as quoted by The Golfing Gazette.
Money was the main motive for most golfers to become part of the 'other side'. Such decisions caused strong criticism, but young golfers, as well as experienced ones, wanted to take advantage of the opportunity that presented themselves.
Cameron Smith situation
Singh commented on the removal of Cameron Smith's traces from TPC Sawgrass after he joined LIV Golf. The famous golfer opposes such decisions, believing that removing his traces from the club is an unnecessary move.
“That was too much. He was so against the LIV Tour from the beginning. And I don’t blame him, he was supporting the players and a lot of players were against it too. But doing that was sad. The only thing that was flying was the Australia flag, but there are no photos.."- he concluded.
