Government Big decision for children between 3 to 6 years in UP, scheme will start soon in all 75 districts

UP News: The reports of the Government of India and UNICEF have also revealed the serious situation of malnutrition in many districts of Uttar Pradesh.

UP News: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken a major initiative to give new strength to the fight against malnutrition in Uttar Pradesh. The Chief Minister has given instructions to start the ‘Mukhyamantri Suposhan Yojana’ soon. The aim of this scheme is to make the children of poor and deprived families of the state healthy by freeing them from malnutrition.

In the review meeting of the Child Development and Nutrition Department on Saturday, the Chief Minister clarified that children aged 3 to 6 years will be given nutritious snacks (breakfast) every morning. He said that the benefit of this scheme will be given to the children of families identified under Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Zero Poverty Mission, children living in aspirational districts and development blocks.

CM Yogi directed that Take Home Ration (THR) units should be set up in all 75 districts of the state. At present, a total of 204 units are operating in 43 districts of the state, which will now be expanded across the state. The ration prepared in these units will reach children, pregnant women and lactating mothers through Anganwadi centers.

The Chief Minister said that local food products like amla, jaggery and millets of Pratapgarh will be included in THR so that local farmers and producers can also benefit. He directed to ensure 100% transparency and quality in this entire system.

A system of continuous monitoring of serious cases related to malnutrition like stunting, underweight and wasting will also be ensured. The Chief Minister said that the Health Department, Women and Child Development Department and the local administration will have to work together.

The Yogi government is already working for the treatment and care of severely malnourished children under the ‘Sambhav Abhiyan’. Thousands of children have benefited from this campaign. Now this new step will bring more strength in this direction.

Referring to the ‘Mukhyamantri Nirashrit Govansh Sahyog Yojana’, the Chief Minister said that poor families who do not have animals will be given a cow so that they can get milk and the nutrition level improves.
