Trump scorns EU peace efforts; Haifa missile wounds multiple; Iran refuses to discuss nuclear program future

Greens senator David Shoebridge has just appeared on ABC News 24, saying the US strikes are a “dangerous escalation in the Middle East”.
He blamed the Australian government, and international community for failing to enforce “red lines” on the escalation of military action.

“The violence and the killing has escalated and escalated in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and now Iran, and we’re seeing the ultimate consequence now of that failure to put any red lines in either for Donald Trump or Benjamin Netanyahu,” he said.
“Our government is likely to come out and say that these are actions of self-defence, and that would either be ignorant of, or deliberately contrary to, what international law says.
“This is an illegal attack by the United States on top of another illegal attack by Israel.”
Shoebridge called Trump a “bully” and said failure to condemn the attacks meant the government was “complicit in that escalation and violence”.
“The practical actions here are to start distancing ourselves from Donald Trump and his increasingly erratic and violent approach to to to the world.”
