2 arrested as Hong Kong police reclassify scaffolding accident as manslaughter




Hong Kong police have arrested two men after reclassifying an industrial accident involving collapsed scaffolding that killed two workers and injured three others last year as manslaughter.
Foreman Lai Cheuk-yuen, 48, and worker Fong Man-hung, 58, were taken into custody on Thursday and jointly charged with two counts of manslaughter over the incident in Kai Tak.
The pair each secured bail at HK$300,000 after a brief appearance at Kwun Tong Court on Friday morning.
