A 14-year-old boy was rescued on Thursday after heavy smoke filled a public housing block in Hong Kong’s Kwai Chung, prompting more than 50 residents to evacuate the building. Police said they had received multiple reports since 7.41am of a suspected fire at Block 8 of the Kwai Shing West Estate public housing estate.
