Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv has added American center Zach Hankins for the rest of the season, as officially confirmed.
The 29-year-old big man arrives from Granada in the Spanish ACB, where he averaged almost 20 minutes per game and had a strong showing against Real Madrid with 16 points and five rebounds.
Hankins is well known in Israel. He first joined Maccabi Rishon LeZion after the COVID break in 2020 and later spent two successful seasons with Hapoel Jerusalem, winning the State Cup and being named Israeli League Player of the Year.
Born in Michigan, Hankins played college basketball at Ferris State and Xavier. His career includes stops in the Czech Republic, the G-League, Puerto Rico, Romania, and Spain.
Maccabi brings him in to strengthen the frontcourt, relying on his size, toughness, finishing ability, and rebounding. He will wear number 35.
