Dhurandhar music launch: Ranveer Singh sets the stage on FIRE; sings ‘Ghafoor’, lifted in the air by Kings United dancers
Ranveer Singh was at his usual self and rocked the show at the music launch of Dhurandhar, which was also attended by Sara Arjun, Hanumankind, Madhubanti Bagchi, Jasmine Sandlas and Shahzad Ali. The host of the evening was Sahil Khattar, and he also did his bit to excite the audience. Interestingly, Sahil and Ranveer worked together in ’83 (2021) and they bonded over it as well.
Ranveer Singh, while remembering, ’83, said, “We do many films. Some work while some don’t. But years later, all that is left is the experience of making that movie. I made so many dear friends on that film and Sahil is most certainly very close to my heart.”
Ranveer made a rocking entry on stage and then went on and on once he was handed the microphone. He told Sahil Khattar, “This is what happens. If you give me the stage and mic, main aapki duty pe lag jaunga!” Sahil joked, “Yehi toh aapki beauty hai!” Since ’83 was on his mind, he said “What else are we here for?” in Kapil Dev style and it got a rocking response.

He then addressed the fans and said, “I love the energy in the house tonight! Agar yeh 6.50 feet ke log (bouncers) hatenge toh main aap se mil bhi lunga! I’d love to give each one of you a big, tight hug as to show my gratitude for being here tonight.”
All of a sudden, Ranveer Singh began singing the title song, which also worked big time among the audience. But Ranveer stopped himself and said, “I can’t sing like Hanumankind.” He continued quipping, “I’ll do ‘Apna Time Aayega’! Aisa nahin hai, Hanuman bhai. Humne bhi bhaari bhaari rap kiye hai Gully Boy (2019) mein!”
Ranveer hails Shashwat
Ranveer Singh remembered music composer and crooned the song of The Ba***ds Of Bollywood, ‘Ghafoor’, which got the maximum hoots.
Ranveer stated, “We can’t have the music launch without mentioning the name of Shashwat Sachdev. He was unable to make it today as he needs to deliver the film. He’s in the studio, adding final touches. He has had a couple of banger hits in the recent past, including ‘Ghafoor’!”
Ranveer continued, “His connection with divine energy is special. I am so glad that our film collaboration happened with Dhurandhar. It’s got an eclectic mix of singers like Hanumankind, Arijit Singh, Diljit Dosanjh, Sonu Nigam, Jasmine, Madhubhanti, Rebel and Shahzad.”
On a serious note, Ranveer Singh remarked, “Music serves as a memory of the film. People might see a film once or at most, twice or thrice. But they’ll listen to the songs regularly. It allows you to relieve a memory and the feelings which are embedded in that music. So, it’s a large part of that entire cinematic experience. The soundscape of Dhurandhar is going to be something to look forward to in theatres and even listen to after you have done watching the film experience.”

Ranveer vs Kings United
The performances followed. The first performance was by Shahzad Ali and he sang ‘Ishq Jalakar – Karvaan’. This was followed by Madhubanti Bagchi and Jasmine Sandlas, who sang ‘Shararat’. Ranveer Singh performed on both songs. For the latter, he also got Krystle D’Souza on stage.
As for ‘Easy’, the song was performed by the dance group, Kings United. Ranveer interacted with each one of them and challenged them for a face off. However, Ranveer decided to cutely back off when they showed their moves. Later, they lifted him in the air and it was surely one of the most memorable moments of the evening.
The launch ended with the performance on the title track. Ranveer Singh was overwhelmed and he tried meeting as many fans as possible. He got off the stage and then came up again to interact with the audience one last time.

The music launch of Dhurandhar was held by Amazon Music in association with Saregama. Besides Ranveer Singh and Sara Arjun, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna and Arjun Rampal. Backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, Dhurandhar is directed by Aditya Dhar. It releases in cinemas on December 5.
