Robert Irwin Shares Update on 'Painful' Rib Injury from 'DWTS' Finale Rehearsals

Robert Irwin is sharing an update on his rib injury.

During the Dancing with the Stars season 34 finale on Tuesday (November 25), the 21-year-old wildlife conservationist revealed in his video package that he suffered a “painful” injury to his ribs during rehearsals.

After being crowned the winner of season 34, Robert and partner Witney Carson jetted off to New York City for an appearance on Good Morning America on Wednesday morning (November 26).

During his interview, Robert shared an update on his recovery.

Keep reading to find out more…“We’re getting there,” Robert said. “It’s painful, but no pain, no gain.”

He then sang his praises for Witney, 32, for her efforts to make their choreography more manageable.

“Witney was amazing at changing up some of the moves that we had to do in there,” Robert said. “We had to change on the fly, but our last dance, that freestyle, was a way to say thank you to everybody who’d been on that journey.”

He then joked that he’s used getting injury since he works with animals.

“I’ll heal up, mate,” Robert quipped. “I catch crocs, I’m used to it.”
