AIP leader meets several delegations in Sopore

Sopore, Nov 30: Abrar Rashid, son of jailed Member of Parliament Er. Rashid, along with workers of the Awami Ittehad Party (AIP), on Sunday, visited Sopore town to interact with locals and listen to their grievances. The outreach programme witnessed participation from various civil society members, community representatives, and social activists, who collectively highlighted a range of pressing issues faced by the people of Sopore.

During the interaction, residents raised concerns regarding inadequate health and education facilities, shortage of drinking water, poor condition of roads, horticulture-related challenges, and several civic infrastructure gaps that continue to affect daily life. Members of the civil society stressed the need for improved public services, better developmental planning, and swift action on long-pending demands.

Speaking on the occasion, Abrar Rashid assured the delegations that all the genuine issues raised would be conveyed to the concerned authorities for prompt redressal.

He affirmed that these matters will also be highlighted in the upcoming Parliament session by the MP from North Kashmir, Engineer Rashid, emphasizing that despite the difficult circumstances, the voice of Sopore’s people will not be allowed to weaken. He further reiterated that “every penny from the MP’s local area development fund will be utilised transparently and distributed equally across all constituencies of North Kashmir”, ensuring that the funds truly benefit the public. Abrar added that the AIP remains committed to working for the welfare of the people and will continue to engage with locals to understand and address their issues.

The visit was widely appreciated by residents, who expressed hope that their long-pending demands would finally receive attention at the appropriate levels.
