In European Parliament, far-right support allows conservatives to toughen migration legislation

The European People’s Party (EPP) joined forces with the three nationalist and sovereigntist groups in European Parliament to pass two pieces of immigration legislation, disregarding the traditional majority coalition. Member states are also expected to approve these bills on December 8, during the next Justice and Home Affairs Council in Brussels.
