Dear Editor

In addition to GPs, this training is compulsory for anyone in contact with this patient group including support staff, secondary care and even surgeons.
Not mentioned is the cost of each session and how the money has been found to pay. One hopes that those providing this were not the same group who made it compulsory.

But what about domestic abuse, dementia, Parkinson’s and the hundreds of other conditions we need to be competent in?

There are already 27 hours of new guidlines produced daily and it is not too far fetched to see one’s entire day both in paid and own time being taken up to tick the learning boxes leaving little time for experience based learning and clinical care
