The first day of the Bollywood Hungama OTT India Fest and India Entertainment Awards opened today in Mumbai, bringing together key names from India’s streaming landscape. Among the sessions was “GM Fabrics presents The Minute Method behind Maddness! Decoding Sayani’s Acting Prowess,” featuring actor Sayani Gupta in an engaging conversation about her craft and her popular screen roles.
When asked whether she enjoyed working alongside her Four More Shots Please! co-stars, Gupta offered an honest take on the demands of the show. “I don’t,” she said, explaining that maintaining the polished aesthetic of the series is far more challenging than it appears. “To look like that, it’s a joy. But to get four women ready on time to take up costume is a nightmare. Everybody, everything is running late. Somebody’s hair will go out of place and then everybody else has to wait.”
She noted that the show’s visual detailing often complicates performance. “It’s a show where everything else is happening but looks are also very important. I remember doing an interview where they said, ‘oh, this must be really easy.’ I was like, quite the opposite. Playing Gaura in Article 15 was way easier because I don’t have to care about where the hair is going. Here, everything needs to be done properly. You could have given a perfect shot in terms of performance, and one hair is sticking out, one flyaway, and you have to redo it. It’s not fun as an actor.”
Before wrapping up the session, Gupta confirmed that the fourth season of Four More Shots Please! will arrive soon.
