Salman Khan wrapped up the final schedule of his upcoming war drama Battle of Galwan, directed by Apoorva Lakhia, completing the last set of scenes in Mumbai. The actor had earlier unveiled the film’s first look in July 2025 and continued shooting across various locations, including Ladakh, through September. A new behind-the-scenes photo is now circulating online, showing Salman Khan and the film’s female lead, Chitrangda Singh, smiling for a selfie in full Indian Army uniforms.

Salman Khan’s First Look from Battle of Galwan
On July 4, 2025, Salman revealed the motion poster of Battle of Galwan, offering fans their first official glimpse into the film. The poster featured him with bloodstains on his face and sporting a moustache for the role. Salman is reportedly portraying Colonel B. Santosh Babu, the commanding officer of the 16 Bihar Regiment, who bravely led his troops during the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between India and China.

What Battle of Galwan Is About
Battle of Galwan is inspired by the events of June 15, 2020, when Indian and Chinese soldiers clashed in the Galwan Valley during the COVID-19 pandemic. This confrontation was part of a larger border standoff along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

The encounter turned violent when troops from both sides attempted to patrol disputed areas, leading to intense hand-to-hand combat. The clash resulted in the deaths of 20 Indian soldiers, while China also suffered casualties. It marked the deadliest India–China confrontation in more than four decades, significantly escalating tensions between the two countries.

The incident led to heightened military presence on both sides and triggered multiple rounds of diplomatic negotiations aimed at preventing further escalation. In the years that followed, India and China continued engaging through diplomatic channels to maintain stability along the border. The geopolitical backdrop also evolved as India managed tensions with both China and the United States, which imposed tariffs during the same period.
